Being Content and Gente

The Brazilian-Portuguese language is more complicated than i thought.  But this song is making me through the weekend, despite the massive headache and fever.  Listen to an old hit in the 60’s that continues to be a refreshing tune in the midst of all the electronic pop and techno machinations of modern music.  Here is Marcos Valle.

Play Gente by Marcos Valle.  Album: O Compositor E O Cantor Year:  1965

The song is about being cool with what you have. In the second stanza, Marcos Valle exclaims this:

Not that I want to have too much
I want to have some peace
I just want to have a place to live
Because, you see, some people have
Without knowing, more than a hundred

So even though i am feeling this way today, i have more than a hundred.  And more than grateful.
